Graeme Foote has been a sculptor since the 1970’s when he started an apprenticeship as a stonemason then transferred his career to Jeweller and Silversmith.
In 1984 Graeme opened “Gargoyles & Dragons where he has been a successful Architectural Sculptor working in terra cotta, stoneware and bronze helping replace Melbourne’s heritage.
In 1988 he established Surrey Sculpture Studio, where he was principal sculptor leading a team of 5 sculptors working in the one studio space. With the move into the studio space at Hawthorn Studio & Gallery, Graeme now works independently on commission work and continues to make pieces to clients requirements and exhibitions.
Graeme has made many significant commissions amongst those being New Zealand Parliament House Fireplaces, large fountains for the City of Stonnington and ‘Rippon Lea’ for the National Trust and Victoria Racing Club Flemington. Over the years he has created commissioned pieces for client’s private collections in Australia, USA, UK, Japan, Canada, France and China.
